Even Sydney wants to go BLUE

From smh.com.au:

It’s so next year - blue’s the new black for a big night

THE New Year’s Eve celebrations tomorrow come with an unusual invitation to Sydneysiders: come and paint the town blue.

The fireworks will be unprecedentedly blue, traditionally the most difficult colour to create on the pyrotechnician’s palette.

And the creative director, Rhoda Roberts - who says the show will go on come rain or fine, barring gale-force winds - hopes spectators will bring along their own touch of blue.

”It could be a NSW football shirt, a Superman outfit, even just blue nail varnish.”

She hopes that by the time the sun goes down, the harbour shoreline will match the blue of the sky, the blue of the sea. ”Wouldn’t that look wonderful?”

Well, it sort of matches - unless, of course, it rains. But why blue?

”It’s summery, it’s sophisticated, it’s sexy. Just like this amazing, global city,” said Ms Roberts.

International superstar, Robert Vicencio was a special guest in the Bluesheep studios not long ago. We made a one-of-a-kind ‘IX’ shirt to commemorate his book, ”The IX Secrets to Auditioning in Musical Theatre (and Succeeding!)”. Well done Robert! We’re stoked to have you as a friend of Bluesheep!

Design Tip #3: Numb3r5

What to choose, what to choose? If you want something special but are stuck on selecting a significant numeral for your jersey, try some of these ideas for inspiration. Loved one born on 1st July? = 1/7 = #17. Anniversary in March 2008? = 03/08 = #38. Baby born in 1999? = ‘99 = #9 or #18 or #99. You get the drift…

Design Tip #2: Fonts & colours

For the text on the front and/or back of your shirt, choose something that reflects the team name. For example, if you are calling the team ‘Funky Divas’, go for a font that looks ‘happy’ and ‘out there’. To add to that, choose colours that are considered ‘funky’, like purple or pink. It’s little things like this that can make a big difference to your design.
